I first watched the 2020 movie based on this book and fell in love years ago, I finally got around to reading it recently. I love being out in nature and the feeling of finding ones inner wild and connecting to that part of oneself feels very powerful to me. I've also always been a fan of books with canine protagonsists. I am also currently reading White Fang also by Jack London.
While I haven't technically read the original book by Richard Adams i am currently reading the graphic novel and love not only the protagonists being rabbits, but also the art style and story. Something about this piece of media makes me want to be creative and consume all the media about it. I've also seen people say that the story feels very much like it could be a trans allegory and I agree and can see how that could be comforting to us as queer people who often feel like everyone is out to get us in the this world, surrounded by "a thousand enemies" (Richard Adams).
